LOCK HAVEN — Attention Lock Haven …

The 36th annual Sentimental Journey to Cub Haven Fly-In will be taking place next week, Tuesday June 21 to Saturday June 25, and there are a variety of things to look forward to.

This year’s event is expected to bring in around 350 airplanes flown by pilots from all over the nation. Forums will be held, corn will be boiled, music will be played for all who wish to attend and admission will be free all day Saturday — so come on down!

Tours of both the Poker Run and Lycoming Engines will be taking place on Thursday, June 23. Pre-registration for the Lycoming Engines tour will be at 9 a.m. on both Tuesday, June 21 and Wednesday June 22, taking place at transportation. Pre-registration for the Poker Run tour will be available all day Tuesday, June 21 and Wednesday, June 22 at Camp FUBAR.

Both tours are taking place on Thursday, June 23.

The event is also excited to be hosting the Greg Koontz and Alabama Boys Thrilling Air Show, an adventurous addition to the Fly-In that everyone is looking forward to.

Here is a brief rundown of the Fly-In’s activity schedule:

— Tuesday, June 21: Registration gates and indoor and outdoor vending opens at 9 a.m. Greg Koontz and the Alabama Boys Thrilling Air Show will take place at 1 p.m. followed by a time dedicated to kids crafts, held at the pavilion, at 2 p.m. At 5 p.m., admission becomes free and the corn boil begins. Ending the night at 7 p.m., musical entertainers, Rockin’ Rockers, will play until 10 p.m.

— Wednesday, June 22: Registration gates and indoor and outdoor vending opens at 9 a.m. The Missing Man Formation Fly-By featuring Amanda Baughman on the bagpipes will take place at 9:30 a.m. At 10 and 11 a.m., two forums will be held. The first will be hosted by Dr. Paul Shuch titled, “Ground Reference Maneuvers.” The second will be hosted by Paul Babcock titled, “Classic Piper Wing Repair.” At 1 p.m. attendees may choose to attend the Greg Koontz Thrilling Air Antics Show, a forum hosted by Jim Dyer titled, “Helping Support the Classics” or they may choose to check both out. At 2 p.m., located at the pavilion, kids crafts will take place. A forum is also provided at 2 p.m. hosted by John Hoffman titled, “Meet the Cub Club.” At 5 p.m., admission becomes free and the corn boil begins. At 7 p.m., musical entertainers, Kristi Jean and Her Ne’er-Do-Wells will perform closing the second night of the event.

— Thursday, June 23: Departure for the Lycoming Tour will take place at 8:45 a.m. Registration gates and indoor and outdoor vending will open at 9 a.m. At 10 a.m., the Poker Run Fly-Out will depart and a forum hosted by Dr. Paul Shuch titled, “Crosswind Conundrum” will take place. At 11 a.m., there will be a forum hosted by Paul Babcock titled, “Attaining FAA Field Approvals.” A Kiwanis and Rotary meeting and the luncheon at the Piper Aviation museum will be taking place at 12 p.m. with guest speaker Tim Chopp. Following the luncheon, at 1 p.m., Greg Koontz and the Alabama Boys will take it away again. There will also be a forum held at 1 p.m. hosted by Don Wade titled, “C-85 Stoker Motor and Finishing Techniques …….
