South’s Schlotterbeck sprints to pair of victories in Terry Baker Invitational – Herald-Mail Media


South Hagerstown sprinter Cole Schlotterbeck won two events to lead the Rebels’ boys to a second-place team finish in the Terry Baker Invitational on Friday at Hagerstown Community College.

Schlotterbeck won the 55 in 6.66 seconds and the 300 in 37.73 seconds as South scored 44 points — just one point behind team champion Linganore.

Also for the Rebels, Jacob Stoner placed second in the 300 in 38.94 and Lorenzo Decastro took third in the 800 in 2:12.83.

Smithsburg finished third in the boys team standings with 41 points. The Leopards won three events — Cameron Rejonis in the 500 in 1:10.19, Sean Milligan in the 3,200 in 10:27.00, and the 4×400 relay team of Ryan Linn, Owen Brophy, Liam Fisher and Rejonis in 3:51.60.

Williamsport’s Dylan Parker placed third in the shot put with a throw of 42 feet, 5 inches, and North Hagerstown’s Jake Scallion was third in the high jump, clearing 5-6.

• Boonsboro sophomore Caroline Matthews won the girls 3,200 in 11:42.50, leading the Warriors to a sixth-place team finish with 25.5 points.

Williamsport’s Mia Parker finished second in the 55 hurdles in 9.89 seconds. North Hagerstown’s 4×800 relay team finished second in 10:49.89. Smithsburg’s 4×400 relay team placed third in 4:35.14.
