Indoor Track & Field: Titans Open 2021-22 Season | Titantown Sports – WCN (WestminsterCollege Network)

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Westminster men’s and women’s track and field teams opened their 2021-22 indoor season at the Youngstown State Icebreaker on Friday.

Junior Emma Rudolph (Santa Clarita, CA / Golden Valley) shined for the women’s team with a personal-record leap of 12’6.25″ (3.82m) in the pole vault for second place. Rudolph’s mark is currently first among Division III counterparts. Sophomore Saige Heigel (Kersey, PA / Saint Marys Area) finished in the top-20 with a personal-best throw of 34’11.00″ (10.64m) in the shot put.

Leading for the men was senior Amon Sams (Chantilly, VA / John Champe) who had an impressive time of 7.12 in the 60 preliminaries, just missing finals.

Megan Parker, who plans on enrolling for the upcoming Spring, competed unattached and finished seventh in the shot put (12.45m).

The Titans are next scheduled to compete on Friday, Jan. 21 at the YSU’s Collegiate Invitational.
