Indoor Track and Field Wrap up Indoor Season at the Camel City Invitational – Winston-Salem State

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State indoor track and field team competed in the Camel City Invitational at JDL Fast Track Friday and Saturday. Together the Rams competed in 10 total events throughout the weekend.

  • We had five athletes compete in the 60m dash, highlighted by Anyha Goode recording a time of 8.01, resulting in second place overall. Kyndall Barrow and Taniyah Oates both recorded a time of 8.37. Erykah Baldwin and Oshamiya Black recorded times of 8.38 and 8.69 respectively.
  • Amique Willis and Amiyah Murray competed in the 60m hurdles running times of 8.97 and 9.49 respectively. Amique Willis went on to record a time of 8.90 in the finals.
  • Anyha Goode, Imani Tatum, Kyndall Barrow, and Taniyah Oates all competed in the 200m Dash recording times of 26.79, 27.82, 27.96, and 28.48 respectively.
  • Tiarra Smith and Imani Tatum both competed in the 400m dash. Tiarra Smith recorded a time of 1:00.78 which resulted in third place overall and Tatum recorded a time of 1:04.33.
  • Vanessa Jones recorded a time of 5:43.18 in the 1-mile run. Jones also went along to record a time of 11:41.93 in the 3000m run.
  • The rams did well in the high jump, Kennedy Alexander recorded a mark of 1.65m (5-4.9). Amiyah Murray and Nia Hester recorded marks of 1.45m (4-9.08).
  • Tionna Wilson and Erykah Baldwin recorded jumps of 5.10m (16-8.7) and 4.50m (14-9.1), respectively.
  • We had four rams compete in the shot put, DeMya Campbell, Asia Lampe, Alyssa Farmer, and Eriana Townes recording marks of 11.72m (38-5.4), 11.56m (37-11.1), 10.73 (35-2.4, and 9.26m (30-4.5) respectively.
  • In the triple jump, Tionna Wilson finished in 3rd place recording a mark of 11.43m (37-6) and Kyndall Barrow recorded a mark of 10.35m (33-11.48).

Winston Salem State will be competing in the CIAA Indoor Championship next weekend at JDL Fast Track on February 13th and 14th which will wrap up the indoor season.
