Indoor meets mark start of season | News, Sports, Jobs – Faribault County Register

The Blue Earth Area track teams began their season with two indoor track meets. Their third meet, which was an outdoor meet scheduled to be held in St. James on April 5, was canceled.

Mankato East Invite

The BEA girls finished in third place with 37.5 points, just four and a half points behind Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton, who took second.

The host, Mankato East, won the meet, which was held on March 31, with 110 points and Hutchinson finished in fourth place with 34.5 points.

The following individuals and teams took fifth place or higher.

Calli Ferguson, Sidney Eitzmann, Abbey Lorenz and Elizabeth Jacobson paced the 4×800-relay team to a fifth place finish with a time of 13:12.4.

The Medley relay team of Lizzy Uecker, Lauren Bleess, Sidney Eitzmann and Calli Ferguson finished third in 5:34.0.

Haley Kalis, Sophie Keister, Lauren Bleess and Tailor Douglas joined forces to run the 4×200-meter relay in 2:09.0 to finish in third place.

In the 60-meter high hurdles, Lauren Survis raced to a fifth-place finish in 11.4.

Addison Armstrong had a good showing in the 400-meter dash with a second-place finish in 65.0. Kate Armon finished four seconds behind Armstrong for a fourth-place finish in 69.0.

Armon ran the 200-meter dash in 30.2 to finish in fifth place.

Armstrong went over the bar in the pole vault at 9-0 to take first place in the event with teammate Jazmyn Lunz taking second place with a vault of 8-0.

Chloe Groe gave the Bucs another first place finish with a throw of 33-10 1/2 in the shot put.

Keister had a jump of 4-10 in the high jump which was good for second place.

Kalis took fifth in the long jump with a leap of 13-3 3/4.

In the final event of the day for the girls, Armstrong, Douglas, Leah Becker and Aubrey Woodwick took fourth in the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 4:56.0.

Boys results

Mankato East placed first in the boys meet with 111 points, Hutchinson was second with 55 followed by BEA with 34.5 and JWP with 23.5.

In his high jump debut, Austin Stauffer cleared the bar at 5-10 to finish in first place.

Gabe Torres had a leap of 18-1 1/4 to finish fourth in the long jump.

Jack Norman took third in the shot put with a toss of 42-3 and Blake Ripley was fourth with a throw of 39-0.

The 4×400-meter relay team of Gage Barker, Jack Norman, Austin Stauffer and Gabe Torres ran to a second-place finish with a time of 3:59.0.

In the 4×200 meter relay, Barker, Waylen Douglas, Aaron Lorenz and Norman crossed the finish line in 1:45.0 to take third place.

The medley relay team of Austin Skaden, Kade Gaydon, Lorenz and Angel Martinez finished with a time of 4:21.0, which was good for third place.

Jacob Grandgenett completed the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.1 to finish in fourth place.

Grandgenett ran the 400-meter dash in 57.4 to take first place. Torres had a time of 58.3 which was good for third place.
