Howland’s Courtney Clark had a day at the Division I OATCCC state indoor meet at the Spire Institute on Friday.

The Tigers senior finished second in the shot put with a throw of 40-05.00, which was 3.75 behind the first place finisher. She wasn’t the only Howland representative either as Conor Durig also placed 4th in the high jump with a leap of 6-4.

Warren G. Harding’s Na’Veyah Parisi was the last Mahoning Valley athlete to snag a top five finish on Friday as she recorded a triple jump distance of 33-07.75 for a 4th place finish.

Canfield’s Nick Plant also found himself on top of another podium

The Canfield senior won the 1600-meter race with a clocking of 4:08.83, just over two seconds faster than the next best finisher. Plant, a Virginia Tech commit, won the state championship for the 800-meter race at the state outdoor meet this past spring before capturing the national title in the same event at the Brooks PR invitational, which is one of the biggest high school national meets in that country.

Aidyn Connolly from Fitch also placed 4th in the girls weight throw and Boardman’s Joey Sferra placed 5th in the shot put with a toss of 53-7.50.
