As Kansas State prepares for its 2022 football campaign, construction continues on the Wildcats’ new indoor practice facility.

The new indoor football facility will feature a 130-yard turf practice field as well as a full outdoor turf practice field with accessibility to the Vanier Family Football Complex. The building will have a limestone exterior to match stadium and campus architecture.

“The new Football Indoor and Outdoor Practice Field would be a game changer for us without question,” said Chris Klieman during the facilities announcement. “It’s a state-of-the-art facility with added practice space for outdoor and indoor which we desperately need here. With what we do right now at our practice, we have everybody doing something at one time. By having more field space, it allows us as coaches to get more done but it allows players to know that they aren’t going to run into somebody in tight quarters. In inclement weather, it’s a great venue for us to not lose time to go right from a meeting room in Vanier to an adjacent facility and go get right into practice.”

K-State announced in June that the building will permanently named the Shamrock Practice Facility in honor of Shamrock Trading Company’s lead gift for the project. The project is estimated to be completed in 2023 at a cost of $32.5 million.
