2022 English Institute Teaching Assistants – DePauw University

2022 English Institute Teaching Assistants

One of the most beneficial features of the English Institute is building relationships with the upper-level DePauw students who serve as Teaching Assistants (TAs). Teaching Assistants support students’ adjustment to life at DePauw both inside and outside the classroom. These skilled student leaders become valuable resources and first friends for new international students who participate in the English Institute.

Please meet the Summer English Immersion Institute Teaching Assistants welcoming the 2022-23 participants:

Hello! My name is Ellie Harris, I am a senior at DePauw and I am a philosophy major! I love helping students on campus, so in addition to the institute, I am also a first year mentor and a W center tutor! You can find me in the W center, in the UB, or in Asbury Hall, where most of my classes are. When I’m not on campus, I love to cook and bake for my family. I can’t wait to meet you all!

Hi everyone! My name is Lily Rutledge and I’m a rising senior here at DePauw. I’m a double major in Music performance (Viola) and English Literature. I’m also a member of the honor scholar program. On campus, I also serve as a first year experience mentor and a writing center tutor. Outside of school, I love to stay active either in the gym or nature park, or just unwind and hang out with friends. My favorite weekly tradition is going to the Prindle reflection center for hot yoga after orchestra rehearsal! I can’t wait to meet everyone in this year’s summer institute! Welcome to DePauw!

Hello class of 2026! I am Zimo Ma, and I usually go by Zina. I am a rising senior Mathematics and Psychology double major from China. I am currently involved in a Psychology focus group research team and Psi Chi Honor Society, and I will be a STEM guide during the following academic year. Besides academics, I am an event coordinator at the International Admission Office, a development service intern at the Alumni and Development Center, a student librarian at Music Library, the vice president of X-CELL Dance Team, and the secretary of DePauw China Connection. It is going to be both my first and last time being a teaching assistant of the Institute. I can’t wait to meet you all and share my experiences at the 2019 Institute and my DePauw life with you! Go Tigers!

Hi Class of 2026! I am Le Vy Ngo. I am a true foodie and a curious backpacker from Saigon, Vietnam. When I have free time between classes, I bake and cook, then share my fruits of labor to friends and professors. I also involve in Management Fellows and DePauw International Students Association (DISA), so in case you have any questions related to the fellowship and organization, don’t hesitate to ask. As an intern of the International Admission Office, I wrote and talked to many of you during your application process to DePauw, but non of these contacts is as thrilling as meeting you in person in the Summer Institute. Sending your big smile and summer heat from Vietnam!
